Direct Floods Relief

When we realized the severity of the situation and we saw such scenes of desperation surrounding us, it came naturally that we should help out as much as we could. Through friends and friends of friends we created a network that was something very successful and also remarkable for me to witness the way everyone went out of their way to help. We needed everything from Clothes to medicines, and from drinking water to pampers and sanitary napkins, of course dry foods and rice were essential but so was mosquito repellent for example. Through Facebook and other means we all kept in contact and everyone did their part and helped without even blinking. Everything was accumulated in town at ATTIC STUDIOS (www.attic-studios.com) and then driven to the highways where we would then collect it on our boats and deliver it out to the needy.

During those times we often helped people move from place to place, we witnessed dead bodies retrieved from the waters because of drowning. We helped mothers and children and the elderly get to places safely, we also brought many people who were ill to the hospital which was working only on the second floor. Even though the horrible situation, doctors and nurses of Rangsit General hospital never stopped working once, they were always there ready to receive us with a smile and we also became good friends. Quick Pack organized for hundreds of people to have tetanus shots as a safety measure for having to be in those waters on a daily basis.

One thing that we also paid particular attention to was helping abandoned pets and stray animals. We collected Dog and Cat food and distributed it out to the wandering animals we came across and also to pet owners who didn’t have food for their little creatures. We even found packs of 30 stray dogs together that were quite frightening for humans and feeding them was a really good idea, as they were becoming more violent because of hunger.

I have to say that it was a great possibility in my life to experience helping people and what realize what emergency relief really means. I thank GOD for giving me this opportunity to help others.
